Senior Playing Coach

Posted in Seniors

After an extensive process, The Anakie Football Club is pleased to announce our new Senior Playing Coach Daniel Bunworth.

Daniel comes to the Anakie Football Club with an impressive football resume. His playing career started at the Western Jets in the TAC, through to Port Melbourne in the VFL. Daniel also spent 2005 at the Lara Football club before becoming a highly decorated player for Wyndhamvale in the WRFL. It was here where he won three senior best and fairests and been a three time member of the WRFL senior team of the year. He spent season 2019 with Point Cook in the WRFL.

Daniel’s coaching experience comes in the form of Wyndham Vale Assistant 11/16 & playing coach in 17/18 along with playing assistant coach at Point Cook in seasons 19/20. Daniel’s philosophy of developing youth aligns with our club values. Daniel is currently a teacher at Lumen Christi Primary School. We firmly believe the skills he has learnt in teaching mixed with his football experience provide a great combination to move our club forward. Daniel will be given all the support needed to prosper in the role and we look forward to growing as a club in parallel with Daniel’s growth as a coach.

We are also well down the track with our recruitment for season 2021 and with Daniel’s appointment we will have some exciting news on this front in the upcoming weeks.

Please join me in welcoming Daniel, Jess and their daughter Elsie to the Anakie Football Club.

Kind Regards
Heath Menhennet - President
